ManageNXT was approached by a US-based financial services provider to migrate their email services to Microsoft 365 from an on-premises Exchange server. The customer required Email, Instant messaging, Video conferencing, Mobile email application, Cloud storage and document share services. The email services should be capable of handling more than 300 end-users. The Cloud storage and document shares should have 1 TB per user. The implementation should meet the highest level of security standards. The email service is very critical for the customer and the migration process should ensure no downtime and zero impact on the business. They also wanted to implement threat protection and monitor the environment on a 24/7 basis. For compliance purposes, they also needed an effective threat handling and security event reporting mechanism.
Based on the customer requirements, ManageNXT implemented Microsoft 365, which works very well with Microsoft Windows ecosystem without any snags. We created a Microsoft 365 account for the client and integrated it with the existing active directory server using Azure AD connect, which imported all the users from the organization to the cloud. ManageNXT also implemented Microsoft Defender and Azure Sentinel, which works very well with Microsoft windows and Azure environment.
Implemented Exchange online as the email solution. Created a hybrid connection to migrate the on-premises exchange to exchange online with no downtime or user impact.
Implemented Teams for Instant messaging, video conference or scheduled video conferences.
Implemented OneDrive for cloud storage which will sync user’s data to the cloud.
Implemented SharePoint for sharing documents with people inside or outside our organization as their permissions.
Exchange Online/email Admin role was set up with top-notch control/admin privileges, and could quarantine email details, block, allow domains, etc. Microsoft email filters (Spam, Malware, etc) with standard subscription, and multifactor authentication providing an additional layer of protection were also implemented.
Allowed users to create online documents with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint online. Also implemented Outlook web for receiving and sending email.
